I'm Eric. I work in civil infrastructure, building the roads, pipes, and water systems that keep communities running. I'm also increasingly interested in technology and AI—how these tools work in practice, where they help, and where they confidently make things up.
This site is where I write about Canadian politics, public policy, infrastructure, and whatever else I'm figuring out. The slow part, not the LinkedIn-shaped version.
What I actually do
My work is practical and physical: roads, pipelines, water systems, and the infrastructure people rely on every day. I'm interested in how these projects get planned, designed, approved, built, and maintained—and in the policies and decisions that shape them.
The writing is the other half. I cover Canadian politics and public policy, especially housing, infrastructure, fiscal decisions, and the choices that determine how the country actually works. I cite my sources so you can check them—and argue back.

What this site is—and isn't
This is a blog. There's no newsletter popup, no tracking, and no email gate. The HTML is hand-written, the CSS is one file, and the only JavaScript powers the reading progress bar, table of contents, and keyboard shortcuts. Try pressing ?.
It isn't a portfolio. If you want to see my projects, ask me—I'll send you a real list with real context, not a tiled grid of screenshots.
